Method
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth and fluffy, about 3 minutes.
- Add the eggs and vanilla and mix until well combined.In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, then fold in the chocolate chips.
- Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto the baking sheet, leaving space between each cookie.
- Bake 10–12 minutes until edges are lightly golden. Centers will look slightly underdone — that's correct.
- Cool on the tray for 5 minutes then transfer to a wire rack.
Notes
Pull cookies out early — they finish cooking on the hot tray. For thicker cookies, chill the dough 30 minutes before baking.
